Yet, here we are, deep in the 21st century, still answering email the old fashioned way. By hand. Thanks to iPhone and iPad we can take our email wherever we go. Thanks a lot, modern technology.
So, it is with a degree of hope born of a hopeful season that I introduce to you MailBar, yet another way to help manage email on your Mac without even bothering to switch from what you’re doing to check on Mail.
MailBar is an email app that lives and works in the Mac’s Menubar, which makes email messages available quickly and easily from within any Mac app you may be using at the time (no need to switch to Mail). It displays the number of messages in the inbox (up to four email accounts), gives you tools to reply, or search messages– all with a click.
A click reveals all the messages, which can be filtered so you can view only unread messages. It’s a bit like Mail mini, but handier because it’s a click away in the Mac’s Menubar. Not bad for a few bucks.
Now, for some email fun.
A Visit From St. Email
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through my inbox,
Not a message was stirring, not even the junks;
The inbox was hung by the Menubar with care,
In hopes that St. Email would soon lay it bare;
Me? I was nestled all snug in my bed;
While visions of an empty inbox danced in my head.
You get the idea, right?
