Not only is the iPad a magical devices, Mac users get in on the action, too.
We have the Magic Trackpad, and Magic Mouse to help ensure our magical experience with Apple products. Apple gives us functionality they think we need. What if we want more? That’s what MagicPrefs does. It brings more functions to the MacBook trackpad, the Magic Mouse, and the Magic Trackpad.
MagicPrefs is a free Mac System Preference app which gives users more functions for the mouse and trackpad. How it works is a delight for any Mac user who wants more functionality for less (even better if you have plenty of fingers).
Three buttons across the top of MagicPrefs give you specific controls over clicks, taps, swipes, and gestures for Magic Mouse, Magic Trackpad, and the MacBook’s built-in trackpad.
Select the number of clicks and the function for each in the left sidebar. Ditto for the number of taps. To the right is a graphical view of the clicks, taps, swipes, and gestures controls. Slider bars control gesture triggering, and tracking speed.
MagicPrefs basic settings are self explanatory and instantly usable. Some of the more esoteric functions require some getting used to, which is why they’re labeled ‘Potentially hard to use.’ They are, but your mileage may vary.
