First, I opened up email and found a long lost friend I never knew is willing to share his PowerBall lottery winnings with me.
Then, one email later, I was invited to manage $6.5-million from someone in Nigeria who is very sick and is afraid someone will steal their millions. All it will cost me is $2,500 to help them out.
And, even better than that, another email from a friend told me about XtraFinder, a free Mac app that adds a few cool new features to the Mac’s Finder.
What do you get for free?
XtraFinder does a few things that Mac power users have complained about for years. With a click you can Show Hidden Items, create a New File, plus there’s a built-in Copy To… and Move To… function for files.
Those are useful functions, true, but the cat’s meow is Finder tabs.
That’s worth more than the price of free, and gives you multiple Finder windows open at the same time.
XtraFinder Preferences are more extensive than you’d expect from a free app. Click the Finder’s menu in the Menubar.
Preferences are simple to setup and use. Simple click on the Features you want to use. And, click on the items you want to add to the Finder’s menus.
XtraFinder is not as comprehensive as the Finder-on-steroids app, Path Finder, but the use of tabs alone is worth the price of admission.
