Is your Mac cluttered with apps you seldom use? Take screen savers. Please. A dozen screen savers of every design grace my Mac innards. It’s not a pretty sight.
Did you know that screen savers don’t save anything, including the screen? Plain old black is better. Turning the screen off is better still.
Why do I have screen savers on my Mac? Because of apps like Fireplace 3D.
There is nothing not to like. The fireplace crackles with sound and the flames move. You’d swear your hand can feel warmth by moving your fingers close to the screen.
The Lost Watch is similar. It’s as if someone dropped an old watch into a stream. But it still ticks.
The graphics are stunning. The same holds true for Mechanical Clock.
Unfortunately, these are three separate screen savers, each of which doubles as wallpaper on your Mac.
That means the wallpaper has sound and motion because each of the screen savers is animated.
Fortunately, all three are remarkably inexpensive. My only wish is that the developer would create more apps, and create an app that would bounce from one screen saver to another. The Lost Watch in the morning, the Mechanical Clock, in the afternoon, and the Fireplace at night.
One more thing. In the Mechanical Clock, notice that the Roman Numeral for 4 is IIII and not IV. Why?
